Hi, I’m Mel! I am a committed wife, lover of traveling, teacher, and wedding officiant. I began my journey as a wedding officiant when a close friend asked me to officiate her ceremony. The wedding day came and I was so nervous I fell off of a chair while putting my shoes on. Twenty minutes later when I was standing at the altar, with two of my best friends, I felt such excitement and joy. What an opportunity to see and feel all of the emotion from the other side of the audience. The feeling is truly indescribable. After that ceremony, I knew it would not be the last.
I have always had a passion for working with people. Currently, I am in my 11th year as a special and general education teacher. If I had to describe myself, I’d say I am a team player; my husband would say I am the boss; and my couples would say I am passionate and caring. I like my clients to know they are my number one priority and that I am flexible up to the last minute. They can come to me openly with any questions or concerns.
My own love story started the day I met my husband while we were both working at Wendy’s in our teens. It started off as an amazing friendship and after high school he went on to work as a local truck driver and I went off to college. My teaching career took me to Baltimore City and it was the night before my big move when Jeff told me he was in love with me…better late than never! Here we are 17 years later, married, and so in love with each other.
